Jude makes a fiery call to display the six examples of apostasy. God has death with apostasy in the past and will deal with it in the future. Armed with spiritual knowledge and Holy Spirit guidance, we must continue to contend for the faith!

Know the Opposing Fighters
Jude 1:3-11

Round 1 – There were men and women who stealthily crept in among God’s people to oppose godliness. (v. 3-5). God destroyed them. Exodus 13:17; 32, Numbers 14
Round 2 – There were evil fallen angels who left their proper domain. God has punished them and reserved everlasting chains in darkness for them. (v. 6)
Round 3 – There were whole cities of people given to sexual immorality and perverted unnatural living who suffered the vengeance of eternal fire. (v. 7) Genesis 19:1-29
Round 4 – False, delusional, dreamy, brute beast teachers defile the flesh, reject legitimate authority, mock angelic majesties, speak evil of what they do not know and are corrupt to the core. (v. 8-10)
Round 5 – False teachers lead people far from God. They go the way of Cain. They are greedy people and follow the footsteps of Balaam. They will perish in their sins like Korah! (v. 11) Genesis 4:3-8; Numbers 22-24, 31:16, 16:1-11

Our culture is in decline. False teachers seem to be on every corner and on every channel. Sometimes it seems they are winning. Be encouraged, God is still on His throne. God will win the battle.

Are you contending for the faith?
How do you handle challenges of the Christian life?
Pray, ask God for help. He will help you in times of need!

Scripture Memory
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:10-12
