Romans 5:12-21 – Roots from the Fruit
1. The original sin is rooted in one man – Adam
(v12a/13) Because Adam sinned – All have sinned. Romans 3:23
(v12b/14/15a) Sin reigns and brings death to all. Romans 6:23
2. The overflow Grace is rooted in one man – Jesus
(v15b/16) Because Jesus died for our sins and rose again the third day – Many will receive the gift of righteousness.
(v17) Jesus’ death and resurrection brings eternal life and God’s abundant provision of Grace to many. John 3:16-18
3. The on decision exposed the roots of choice
(v18/19a) Adam chose to sin and brought condemnation to all of mankind. Philippians 3:17-21
(v18b-21) Jesus chose to die for the sins of all mankind to bring salvation and righteousness to all who would believe. 1 Corinthians 15:45-50
