Going Through Kingdom Tribulations – Acts 14:19-28

While in the modern-day provinces of Turkey, Paul and Barnabas faced many challenges. They were rejected, opposed, ridiculed, mocked, blasphemed, and physically abused for the sake of the Gospel. They persevered! Many believed!
1. Paul was left for dead. He had been stoned to death by certain people from Lystra. The unbelievers were agitated by the Jews from out of town.
2. God did not allow Paul and Barnabas to experience ultimate defeat. Through Paul’s Kingdom tribulations, he was reinvigorated to continue.
3. Paul and Barnabas traveled to every destination God sent them to preach the gospel. They were in partnership with God to see souls saved.
4. Paul and the disciples knew, even faithful followers of Christ need their souls strengthened through discipleship and encouragement.
5. Paul and Barnabas went back to the cities that rejected them. They had a mission. They organized the believers and appointed elders in every church. God is a God of order.
6. Each time a new church was established, they prayed and fasted together. Each church was commended to the Lord.
7. Paul and Barnabas came home to report to their sending church all that God completed in their journeys.
8. The Church in Antioch celebrated all that God has done. They shared how God opened the door of faith to the Gentiles!
9. Even while home from their missionary journey, Paul and Barnabas continued in their discipleship while waiting for their next assignment.
o We must through many tribulations enter the Kingdom of God.
o God is with us in the good times and the bad.
o God is looking for faithful followers who will trust Him completely.
o Are you trusting Him daily?
o Are you continuing in discipleship while you wait?
