2 Timothy 2:1-19
Truth #1 – True Spiritual strength comes through the Grace of God which is in Christ Jesus.
-Grace is God’s gift to all who will believe. Ephesians 2:8-9
-Like Timothy, a Christian is to be constantly strengthened and empowered through the grace found only in Jesus.
Truth #2 – The Christian’s teachings, doctrines and ministries come from the Word of God.
-The Word of God never changes and will never die. Isaiah 40:8
-Christians should treat God’s Word as their greatest treasure. We must live by it and pass it on!
Truth #3 – Christians must make Jesus disciples who make Jesus disciples.
-The Holy Spirit will put faithful people in our paths. We must be found faithful to pour into their lives the truths of Scripture.
This cycle of discipleship has not stopped since Jesus gave His commands and returned to heaven.
-Be faithful in all things. The disciple will make disciples like themselves. Make sure they look like Jesus. Don’t be ashamed of Jesus. Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 1:16
