Dressed for Gospel Success – Acts 16:11-15

Paul heard the Macedonian call and traveled to northern Greece. He and his company began sharing the Gospel in the city of Philippi. At Philippi God had Divine appointments for Paul and his team. God demonstrated His power and love in this city.

Paul met Lydia (a seller of purple fabric) at a prayer meeting down by the riverside. Paul was looking to see where God was at work.

The Lord opened her heart to pay attention and to respond to the things Paul preached about Jesus. The Gospel.

Lydia was baptized in obedience to the command of Jesus. Matthew 28:18-20

Lydia exercised her spiritual gifts of hospitality and service by inviting them to come and lodge at her home.

Paul encountered another young in woman in Philippi who was demon possessed. After casting out the demon, her masters saw their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them to the authorities.

The authorities tore the clothes off Paul and Silas and beat them. This was another Divine appointment.

Paul and Silas were thrown in prison for the sake of the Gospel. The prison jailer held them in maximum security until God sent a late-night earthquake.

The jailer was saved. He ministered to Paul and Silas and treated their wounds.

Paul and Silas were released from prison and went back to Lydia’s house and encouraged the church.

Paul and Silas continued their missionary journeys awaiting further Divine appointments. They were clothed in righteousness.

Are you prepared to serve the Lord at all cost?
Do you feel ready for your daily Divine appointments?
How is God using you for His Kingdom purposes?
