Fruit from the Vine – John 15:9-17

God’s very nature is love. (1 John 4:7-9) When Jesus expressed His sincere love to His disciples, He was giving from His Divine well-spring.

Jesus demonstrated the Father’s love to His disciples. He gave them the love He had received.

Jesus knew the disciples must abide in His love in order to keep His commandments. There was no other way.

Jesus equipped His disciples to have maximum joy in this life.

Jesus emphasized the strongest demonstration of love was to sacrifice one’s life for another. He was foretelling them of His pending death on the cross.

Jesus qualified His disciples as His friends if they kept His commandments.

Like Abraham, the disciples were called God’s friends. James 2:23

Jesus made it clear that His disciples were God’s appointed men who were tasked with bearing much.

Jesus intended for His disciple’s fruit to remain and be lasting. Galatians 5:22-23

In being fruitful, the disciples had a promise of answered prayer.

Jesus insisted that His disciples must follow His command of love for one another.

Do you know Jesus personally?
Are you loving like Jesus loved?
Are your prayers being answer?
