God has revealed Himself as Jehovah Rohi, the LORD, our Shepherd, who protects, provides, and remains ever present with His people. He is accessible and near to all who call on Him for deliverance, grace, forgiveness, peace, provision, and guidance. Psalm 23:1-4
David, himself a former shepherd, declared under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit that Jehovah Rohi is the great Shepherd of His people. The LORD is compassionate and makes faithful provision for all who believe in Him and belong to Him, because of His active, covenant-based loyalty, which is unshakable and unwavering.
Jehovah Rohi grants spiritual rest and restores the souls of His sheep. He leads them according to His will and for His name’s sake. Because of the omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresence of God, the righteous believer can live with confidence, knowing that the LORD is present even in life’s darkest valleys. He is a secure refuge for all who are His. Romans 8:35-39
Scripture makes clear that Jehovah Rohi not only guided His people through life but has prepared an eternal dwelling for them. For us. John 14:1-6
Nearly a thousand years after David wrote Psalm 23, God revealed that His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, is the Good Shepherd. In Him, the Old Testament revelation of Jehovah Rohi found its fulfillment. Jesus declared Himself to be the Shepherd who knows His sheep, cares for them, and lays down His life for them.
Though Jesus confirmed His identity through His teaching and mighty works, many rejected Him in unbelief. Yet His sheep heard His voice, and all who believe continue to hear Him. God knows us, we follow Him, and He gives us eternal life. He remains present, accessible, and near to all who call on Him, for He is indeed Jehovah Rohi.

Have you believed His truth for eternal life?
Have you surrendered your life to His care and leadership?
