Truth 1: We were dead in trespasses and sins.
(v1) Spiritually dead is not merely weak, disabled, or sick. WE NEED NEW LIFE.
(v2) Spiritually dead conforms to the worlds low standard of morality. WE NEED NEW LIFE.
(v3) Spiritually dead is dominated by desires of a fallen, unregenerate nature. WE NEED NEW LIFE.
Truth 2: God gives us new life in Christ.
(v4) God meets our need with compassionate mercy.
(v5-9) God gives us life by grace through faith.
Truth 3: God empowers new life for good works.
(v10) We are His masterpiece, the product of the will and work of God through Christ.
NEW LIFE: By grace, it was Christ for us; through faith, it was Christ in us; and unto good works, it is Christ through us.
