Open for the Spirit’s Leading – Acts 8:26-40

As we look at God’s Holy Word today, we see God the Spirit working among His people.
1. God chose the mission, God wanted accomplished. Target? Ethiopian Eunuch
2. God chose the agent God wanted to accomplish God’s mission. Agent? Philip the Deacon and Evangelist.
3. God gave specific directions to Philip, so that Philip could complete God’s mission. Area? South Desert Road. (Road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza).
4. Philip heard the message from the angel of God and obeyed the word from God.
5. Philip was open to the Holy Spirit’s leading.
6. Philip was actively seeking where God was at work on South Desert Road. (South Desert Road stretched for 50 miles).
7. Philip was prepared to do whatever God commanded. He was ready, willing, and able.

Application to our lives.
• You must purposely ask Jesus Christ to be your Savior and Lord. This is His plan, His way. (John 3:16; Romans 3:23; 6:23; 10:9-13)
• God still chooses the people for His missions.
• God still chooses the missions for His people.
• God still speaks specifically to His people if His people will take time to listen. If you have an obedience problem, you have a love problem.
• God wants us to actively see where He is at work and join Him.
• God is love. His will is always best.
• God is all-knowing. His directions are always perfect.
• God is all-powerful. He will enable us to do His will, His way.
