On a Sunday, around 1,995 years ago, God raised Jesus from the dead! Christ’s resurrection is recorded in Matthew 28:1-20; Mark 16:1-20; Luke 24:1-53; and John 20:1–21:25. How does the resurrection of Christ impact your life? Have you ever thought about how you should you respond to a living Jesus?
The Apostle Luke told us that on Sunday, very early in the morning, women took spices to the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea to anoint Jesus dead body. They found the entrance stone rolled away and an empty tomb.
The women entered the tomb and did not find the body of Jesus. Two angels (men) in lightning white clothes appeared beside them.
In extreme fear, the women bowed their faces to the ground. They must have recognized these men as angelic beings.
The angels explained the resurrection: They asked, “Why are you looking for the living One among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how He told you, while He was still in Galilee, saying that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise from death to life?”
The Bible records the women remembered His words, rushed from the tomb, and reported all things to the eleven Apostles and to all the rest.
Great joy, hope, amazement, worship, praises to God filled the hearts of everyone who witnessed the resurrected Christ. The same is available to everyone who will believe today.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ, attested to by hundreds of eyewitnesses provides overwhelming proof that He is the Savior of the world. 1 Corinthians 15:3-8
Like all those faithful witnesses before us, we who believe in Jesus Christ will personally experience resurrection, because we have placed our faith in the Holy One, Jesus Christ. It is impossible for death to win. 1 Corinthians 15:53-57
Scripture is clear that all those who place their faith in Jesus Christ will be raised to eternal life. John 3:16; Romans 10:9-13; 1 Corinthians 15: 20-23
What about you? Do you believe in the resurrected Jesus? Have you placed your faith and trust in Him for salvation? Yes No
