Knowledge Never Replaces Faith – John 19:16-30 (Matthew 27:32-56; Mark 15:21-41; Luke 23:26-49)

Even Pontius Pilate’s decision to hand Jesus over to be crucified was the plan of God. He uses every story for His glory.

Jesus was led away by the guards to Mt. Calvary. Even His humiliating journey to the cross was prophesied. Isaiah 53:6,7

Jesus was crucified between two other criminals, one on the right and the other on the left. Those men deserved their punishment for the wrong they had committed. Jesus took Barabbas’ place and paid his debt. Jesus paid for everyone’s sin debt that day. Romans 5:6-11

All that Jesus suffered, He suffered for all of humanity, this includes you. His great love was His motivation. Jesus loves you!

Pilate knew who Jesus was. He was afraid of Him. He made sure the Passover public knew who Jesus was, but He privately rejected Jesus. Almost persuaded!

The soldiers unknowingly fulfilled ancient prophecy by casting lots for Jesus’ tunic. Psalm 22:18

In His death, Jesus cared deeply for His mother. He gave charge of her to John, His beloved Apostle. John cared for her in his own home.

Jesus was the Bread of Life and the Passover Lamb. The only thing missing from completing the Passover command issued by God was bitter herbs. Jesus said, “I thirst!”

Jesus was so in charge of all things, He even controlled the time of His death. He proclaimed, “It is finished!”

Have you put your faith and trust in Jesus today?

Do you have a personal love relationship with Him?

Have you realized your redemption?
