Truth #1 – Jesus assured His disciples of the Father’s promise
(v 4,5) Jesus commanded his disciples to wait on the Father with expectancy for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
(v 6) Prior to receiving the Holy Spirit the disciples were distracted with their own curiosities.
Truth #2 – Jesus assigned His disciples the Father’s plan
(v 7,8a) Jesus revealed God’s strategy to witness to the world. Matthew 28:18-20
(v 8b) Jesus commanded His disciples to preach with power after they received the Holy Spirit.
Truth #3 – Jesus ascended in front of His disciples to be with the Father in paradise.
(v 9) After giving His disciples their specific preaching instructions, Jesus ascended.
(v 10,11) Angels comforted the disciples with the promise that Jesus would return!

Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus. – Acts 4:29,30
