What’s on God’s Menu? – Leviticus 11:1-47, Deuteronomy 14:1-21

Truth 1: God’s menu included a healthy diet of required obedience for His people.
(v 1-43) God clearly instructed Moses and Aaron how to guide His people in His right way of living.

God set the standard of living in the Old Testament for the Hebrews and God has set the standard of living in the New Testament for the Church. God makes the rules and does not cause confusion! 1 Corinthians 14:33

Truth 2: God’s menu included a healthy diet of required sanctification for His people.
(v 44,45) God wanted the Hebrews to separate themselves from their pagan neighbors. Everything about them was unique, including their diet.

God’s standard is holiness! In the Old and New Testament, God is looking at the heart of those who belong to Him. 1 Peter 1:15-17

Truth 3: God’s menu was part of His required law for His people.
(v 46) God’s law of foods permitted and foods forbidden was clear. The Hebrew could understand God’s law.

(v 47) God wanted His people to distinguish between right and wrong in all of their lives, including their diet. What’s on God’s menu? Holiness!
