Romans 6:14-23 – Yielding to the Proper Master

1. Christians have God’s favor now and forever.
(v14) It is God’s grace that allows us to yield ourselves to Him.
(v15) God’s grace does not give us a reason to sin but a reason to yield to the Holy Spirit.

2. Christians have God’s freedom for eternity.
(v16-17) God has given the Christian freedom to no longer yield to sin.
(v18-20) God has given the Christian freedom to yield their lives to the righteousness of God.

3. Christians have God’s fruit in their lives.
(v21,22) Christians have put away the old way of live and must yield to the Holy Spirit to produce the fruit of holiness.
(v23) Your master will always pay you a wage. The master of sin pays eternal death. The Master (God) gives the gift of eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

“Before we came to Christ, sin had a chokehold on our lives, and we could do nothing but serve it as its obedient slaves. Through the death and resurrection of Christ, however, we gain the power to live for God.” – Charles Stanley
