FAQ's about Camp Exemplar

What weeks will Camp Exemplar take place in summer of 2026?

Camp runs from June 8–12 for the first week and concludes with the final week on August 10–14. Please note that during the first week of July, camp will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day.

Who can attend camp?

Camp Exemplar is open to children entering 5K through 7th grade in Fall 2026. Children entering 5K must be 5 years old by June 9, or by the start of the week they attend camp.

Will we get to meet camp staff before camp begins?

All campers and their parents are encouraged to attend the Camp Exemplar orientation meeting on Thursday, May 21, at 6:15 PM in the sanctuary at Town Creek Baptist. During this meeting, you’ll have the opportunity to meet this year’s staff, receive additional information not listed on the website, and ask any remaining questions. A notary will also be available to assist with forms and to collect any remaining fees. This meeting is highly recommended for families new to camp.

What is the weekly cost of Camp Exemplar?

The cost is $140 per week for the first child and $125 per week for each additional child. This includes 10 hours of supervised camp each day, field trips, themed activities, Friday lunch, and morning and afternoon snacks. You may pay for camp one week at a time or pay for multiple weeks at once, up to the entire summer.

When is payment due for camp?

Payment is due by the end of Thursday before the upcoming week of camp. Paying in advance allows camp administration to purchase supplies and prepare activities before the week begins. Failure to pay on time may prevent your child from attending camp that week. Payment information can be found here.

Is there a registration fee?

The one-time registration fee is $90 per child if paid before May 1, 2026, and $115 after May 1 (with a family maximum of $190). This fee is only paid once per camper for the summer. It secures your camper’s spot and covers processing fees, the required camp T-shirt, and other materials needed for each camper.

What forms will be needed before camp begins?

For new and RETURNING campers: You will need to have the following filled out and turned into camp administration before your camper can come to camp:
  • Camp Registration (online here)

  • Medical Release and Permission Form

  • Copy of Insurance Card

  • Signed Code of Conduct

  • Authorization for those who may pick up your camper

What time does camp run?

Camp doors open at 7:30 AM each morning, and campers should check in with an Exemplar Guide at the main desk upon arrival. Campers must be picked up and checked out by 5:30 PM. Late pickups will incur an additional fee. These hours are provided for your convenience and are not mandatory for camper attendance.

Will there be activities that are off Town Creek's main campus?

We try to keep activities on campus, but occasional off-campus field trips may occur on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. If the weather causes a change, we reschedule when possible. Campers must wear their camp T-shirt and sneakers (or sandals for water activities) on field trip days. Activities may change, so the best way to stay updated is through our private parent Facebook group and lobby announcements at drop-off and pick-up.

What should campers wear for camp?

On field trips and water days, campers must follow the specific dress code. On all other days, they may wear clothing of their choice that follows the code of conduct. We recommend sending a change of clothes each day. For swimming or water activities, campers should bring a towel and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

Will my camper be required to participate while at camp?

Campers are expected to participate in all scheduled activities unless a health issue or parental request prevents them. If your child needs to be exempt for a day, please inform the administration at drop-off. Since camp fees cover participation, we want to ensure every camper can take part in the week’s activities.

Can my camper have their electronic devices at camp?

Campers may bring cell phones, iPads, or tablets, but all devices must be turned off and kept in their bags during camp hours. If a camper is caught using a device, it will be held by staff and kept with administration until pickup. Repeated use may require the device to stay at home with a parent or guardian. Parents needing to contact their child during camp hours should call the main church number at (803) 649-9792.
